- Start near the upper entrance. The Odeon hosted council meetings and small concerts; the neighboring State Agora was the administrative center.
- The city’s sacred flame was kept here. Continue downhill toward Domitian Square.
- The temple and surrounding buildings reflect imperial authority in the city. Continue toward Curetes Street.
- Pause for a photo at Hercules Gate. Look for fountains, inscriptions and columns as you walk down Curetes Street.
- Look closely at the reliefs on the facade. The nearby Terrace Houses are an optional detour requiring a separate ticket and extra time.
- Study the statue replicas and two-story facade. Try a view from slightly to the right for photos, then look at the adjoining Gate of Mazeus and Mithridates.
- Follow Marble Street to the theatre. From the upper rows, look toward the former harbor. The steps can be steep and slippery.
- Follow the colonnaded Harbor Street toward the lower exit.
